Gloria Coles

1995 Community Service Award

Miss Coles came to the Flint Community Schools in 1984. A native of Cleveland, Ohio she has degrees from New York University and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland..

Her past work experiences include administrative positions at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library and the East Cleveland Public Library.

She is active in national professional organizations and is a volunteer on several local community boards including the Community Coalition and C.A.R.E., Inc.

Miss Coles was instrumental in helping The Greater Flint Afro-American Hall of Fame to secure a permanent home for public review in the Flint Public Library.
