Diana Frederica Wiley

High School

Diana Wiley was All-Big Nine and All-State in basketball and track and field.

In track and field she ran the 200-meter dash, the mile relay and the 4×200 and 400 relays.

Diana played on Beecher’s 1980 State Championship girls basketball team and also made All-Big Nine her senior year.

Diana was captain of Beecher’s basketball team her junior and senior years. She was also captain of the track team those same years.

Diana was awarded four varsity letters in basketball, three varsity letters in volleyball, and four varsity letters in track and field.

College

After high school, Diana received a four-year basketball scholarship to attend the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor).

Diana was co-captain of the University of Michigan girls basketball team for two years.

Coaching

Diana started her coaching career in volleyball and basketball in 1988-89 after taking a job at Lyndon Baines Johnson High School in Austin, Texas. Diana coached the J.V. girls basketball team and was varsity assistant coach from 1989-92.

In July of 1992, Diana returned to Flint to assume a position with Genesee District as a J.V. girls basketball coach and varsity assistant with Coach Kevin Strozier.

Diana coached the girls J.V. basketball team at Flint Central High School and was varsity assistant coach to Dave Ginsberg.

Diana traveled to coach at the U.S.A. World Athletic Games in Providence, Rhode Island three different times.
